Newcastle Libraries host many reading, business and heritage events.

The Page Turner leaflet lists upcoming events and exhibitions. Pick up a copy at your local library or view the digital version online.

Summer Reading Challenge - Marvellous Makers!

This year's Summer Reading Challenge is all about being creative. Find out how to take part in this year's Marvellous Makers Challenge and learn more about weekly activities and story times, plus special events and workshops, happening at your local library in our Summer Reading Challenge booklet.

Activities for adults and teens

Reading groups and Chess club meet regularly across Newcastle Libraries. 

Activities for children and families

We host regular Storytimes, Craft Clubs, Lego Clubs and Reading groups for kids. Find out more in our Children and Young People section.

Board games

We have one of the best library board game collections in the country! Visit our Board Games for information on upcoming meet-ups.

Knit and crochet clubs

Our knit and crochet network meets across Newcastle Libraries and makes beautiful items for charity.

Groups for English learners

Our Practise English group is for those looking to improve their language skills.

Heritage Open Days 2024

We're delighted to be part of this year's Heritage Open Days, which take place from the 6th - 15th of September 2024.

The Open Days are a chance to explore Heritage you wouldn't normally have access to and this year we're hosting 5 events.
