Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team for Young People

The Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team offers impartial and confidential careers information, advice and support to young people up to the age of 19 without an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC plan) and up to 25 for those with an EHC plan, if they live in Newcastle or attend a Newcastle school.  

Careers Advisers can support you to make positive choices about your future with information about college courses, apprenticeships, 6th form in schools, employment and a range of other options depending on your needs and interests.

We can also help you with advice on a wide range of lifestyle issues and volunteering opportunities. If you need more specialist support we can put you in touch with the right people through our networks and partnerships.

Our website www.newcastlecareers.org.uk has lots of useful information about opportunities after leaving school.

We have Careers Advisers working in secondary schools or you can drop into the where Newcastle Careers and Guidance Team staff are located:

  • Monday afternoons at Nunsmoor Centre, Studley Terrace, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 5AH - from 2pm until 4.30pm or
    Byker Sands Family Centre, 19 Raby Cross, Byker, NE6 2FF - from 1.30pm until 4.30pm.
  • Tuesday afternoons at Children and Families Hub, Charlton St, NE15 8RN - 1.30pm-4.30pm
    Galafield Family Hub (Fortnightly), Newbiggin, NE5 1LZ - 1.30pm-4.30pm.
  • Tuesday to Thursday from 10am until 5pm at Work and Thrive Central in City Library, 33 New Bridge Street West, NE1 8AX.
