Season Ticket Permits

Season Ticket Permits

Review

A review of Season Tickets has been completed following consultation.  This review was aimed at ensuring that the scheme remains fit for purpose in supporting the highway network; recognises the changing needs of individuals and businesses in the city centre and responds to changing customer needs.

A series of changes have been implemented from 03 April 2024 and these changes have been summarised in a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) guide that is available here.

Benefits of having a Season Ticket

Season Tickets allow parking without the need to purchase a ticket at the machine or pay via the Pay by Phone Service for each parking session.  They can also provide a significant discount compared to paying to park on a daily basis.  There are four different types of Season Ticket Permits available to the public; Gold, Emerald, Diamond and a new Ruby permit.

You can park in either a marked permit bay or an ordinary parking bay with a Gold, Emerald or Diamond permit however Ruby permits will have a dedicated permit bay allocated to the permit holder.

If the vehicle is an electric vehicle the permit may also be used within an electric vehicle charging bay whilst actively charging within the designated car park.

Additionally, if the Season Ticket is being used by a disabled badge holder, the permit holder may park in a disabled parking bay or ordinary bay within the designated car park, provided that the Season Ticket holder displays a valid disabled badge.

Platinum Season Ticket Permits are only available under private leaseholder arrangements in the Grainger Town and Quayside MSCPs

New prices will apply for all Season Tickets issued from 03 April 2024 onwards with details here.

Frequently Asked Questions about Virtual Season Tickets

How do I pay for a Season Ticket?

If you have received an email offer for a virtual Season Ticket, payment can be made via the link in the email via your virtual permit account and the permit will be live as soon as payment has been made.

Will I still receive a reminder that my permit is due to expire?

Yes, you will continue to receive a renewal reminder.  Where we hold a record of your email address on your new virtual Season Ticket account, we will send the reminder via email.

How does the virtual Season Ticket work?

When you have applied and been approved for a Season Ticket you will be provided with access to the Season Ticket via your online virtual permit account.

You would then simply access your online account to enter the vehicle registration of the vehicle you wish to use on the permit.

Civil Enforcement Officers will be able to identify that the vehicle is entitled to park via their handheld electronic device.

The vehicle registration entered into the system will stay in place and be valid to park until you replace it with another registration, which can be done at any time by accessing your virtual Season Ticket account.

What do I do if I change my vehicle?

If you have a virtual Season Ticket you can change the vehicle registration by logging into your Virtual Permit account. What happens if my circumstances change and I no longer need the permit?

You can request to cancel your permit via your online account. Upon receipt of your cancellation request Parking Services will cancel the permit and you will be notified via email when your permit has been cancelled.

A £25.00 administrative charge will be applied for the process of cancelling the permit; making the necessary changes to the car park configuration and processing a refund.  If you paid for your permit upfront in a single payment, we will refund the value of the unused portion of the permit to you, usually to the payment card that the original payment was taken from, minus the administrative charge.
