Online Reading Groups

Here's some ways to keep your reading group active during social distancing, as suggested by Reading Groups for Everyone website.

You will need WiFi or an internet connection to use any of the following options;

You can download eBooks & eAudio books from two online platforms available on Newcastle Libraries website

Borrowbox have titles in eBook and eAudio format which can be downloaded by multiple users, so all your group can read / listen to the same title at the same time. Look out for the section called Always Available - eBooks & Always Available eAudio books. These titles change from month to month so it's worth checking regularly.

RBdigital have multi-access titles for eAudio only, so all your group can listen to the same title at the same time. Visit the Newcastle Libraries RBdigital homepage and look for the carousels with ‘Always Available’ in the title.

To access the eBooks and eAudio books each person in the group needs to be a member of Newcastle Libraries, if you aren’t a member you can join online.  You will also need to have access to a device / tablet to download the relevant apps. A guide on how to borrow eBooks and eAudio items can be found on this page.
