What will I be doing?

You will play an integral role in leading activity on major spend categories within the main trading portfolios of construction (Capital Design/Build and Repairs and Maintenance), Waste and Environmental Services, Building Materials and Traffic Management, working with internal and external stakeholders in shaping the commissioning strategy and optimising benefits for the City.

1 x 37hrs per week, Permanent - offering hybrid working, a mix between office base at our Civic Centre, Newcastle and working from home

What will I need?

The successful individuals should possess deeper practical knowledge of the above category areas and a good understanding of public contract regulations. You will need experience in leading complex procurement projects and the capability and desire to strategically lead, develop and deliver quality professional procurement support.

The role would therefore suit an experienced preferably CIPS qualified (or currently/willing studying for), passionate, and creative procurement professional with ambitions to help shape and improve our service.
