Pay and Display – Red Walk (including scratchcards) - Terms and Conditions of Use

Parking permits issued by Newcastle City Council are issued subject to terms and conditions of use, which permits holders should ensure that they are familiar with.

Terms and Conditions

1. Permits may only be used within pay and display parking bays located on Red Walk.
2. The permits do not provide an exemption to park in any parking spaces which may have been temporarily suspended from use.
3. Permits showing a registration(s) number may only be used on the vehicle(s) with that number.
4. If a physical permit has been issued, the permit must be displayed prominently on the dashboard/front windscreen of the vehicle so that all of the particulars on it are visible from the outside of the vehicle.
5. Whilst the vehicle is in the parking place it must not be used in conjunction with selling or offering for hire of any service.
6. Physical permits will only be issued through the post to the address submitted on the application.
7. All vehicles using permits must be parked in accordance with the “City of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (On- Street Parking Places) Order 2009” as from time may be amended, extended re-enacted or replaced.
8. Misuse of a permit, forging or possessing a forged permit or making a false statement for the issue of a permit are all offences which may carry a substantial fine.
9. The use of a parking permit does not render the Council subject to any liability in respect of theft or, or damage to any vehicle in a parking place, or the contents or fittings of any such vehicle
10. A charge of £10.00 may be applied to replace lost or stolen physical permits and a Lost Permit Application form is required to be submitted to the Council
11. If paying for your annual permit by monthly direct debit, you agree to pay for your permit by 10 monthly instalments via direct debit.
12. Permits, paid via an instalment plan; if payments are not made within the instalment timeframe, the Council reserve the right to revoke the permit and request its immediate return. The Council may take action to recover any outstanding payment.
13. Permits paid via invoice; if payment is not made by the invoice due date, the Council reserve the right to revoke the permit and request its immediate return. The Council may take action to recover any outstanding payment.
14. Unused full books of scratchcards returned/cancelled within 14 days will be entitled to a full refund.
15. Scratchcards returned/cancelled after 14 days are not eligible for a refund
