Argyle Street

The bridge at Argyle Street, over the railway line, is closed to traffic. 

Please access Argyle Street car park via New Bridge Street.

Blandford Square

Three of the pay and display bays at Blandford Square car park are being converted into electric vehicle charging point bays.

Dean Street

Until April 26  all parking bays on level 10  of Dean Street multi storey car park will be suspended due to essential maintenance work being carried out on the roof of the multi storey car park.

Whilst these works are being carried out Season Ticket permit holders may not be able to park in permit bays of this level.  If no permit bays are available for a permit holder to park during the period the works are being carried out, the Season Ticket holder would be allowed to park in an available charged parking bay either in Dean Street or Manors multi storey car parks.          

During the period of these maintenance works being carried out there will also be a reduced capacity of charged bays in operation in Dean Street multi storey car park. 

Painters Heugh

Until May 03 all charged parking bays in Painter’s Heugh will be suspended to support the essential maintenance work that is being carried out on Dean Street multi storey car park. 
 

Saville Place

Until 30 June 13 pay and display bays in Saville Place car park have been reserved by Newcastle City Council for a storage area in the car park for a contractor working on Northumberland Street.    

The Garage at The Helix

From Monday 20 November 2023 the closing times for this car park will be amended to 10.00pm each day, with the car park re-opening the following day at 6.00am

Temporary disruption

Close Swing Bridge

From April 29 until May 1 and from May 7 until May 9 between 10.00 pm and 6.00 am 2 disabled bays in Close swing Bridge car park have been reserved to allow for cleansing works to be carried out.

On May 5 there will be no access or exit into or out of Close swing Bridge car park from 8.30 am until 2.30 pm due to a road closure being in operation to support the Newcastle Gateshead marathon event.

The closest alternative off street car park and multi storey car parks are located at either, Akenside Hill car park NE1 3UF, Dean Street multi storey car park NE1 1PG, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN or Quayside multi storey car park NE1 2AQ. 

Eldon Garden

The electric vehicle charging points are due to be replaced, so in the interim period there may be periods where the existing electric vehicle charging points may be out of service.   

Forth Banks

On May 5 there will be no access or exit into or out of Forth Banks car park between 8.30 am until 2.30 pm due to a road closure being in operation to support the Newcastle Gateshead marathon event.

The closest alternative off street car park and multi storey car parks are located at either, Akenside Hill car park NE1 3UF, Dean Street multi storey car park NE1 1PG, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN or Quayside multi storey car park NE1 2AQ.

Grainger Town multi-storey car park

St James Park Stadium car park 

The Stadium car park will be unavailable due to a match day event(s) taking place at St James Park on:

• April 27
• May 11

Weather related disruption

During winter weather conditions multi storey car park roof sections may be closed at:

• Eldon Garden
• Eldon Square
• Grainger Town 

These closures are to keep people safe.  

When roof levels are closed notices will be put up to advise drivers.

During these closures season ticket permit holders can park in pay and display bays on lower levels of these car parks.
