Hackney Carriage Permitted Advertising

All advertisements must be approved by Newcastle City Council before use.

Only one advert can be displayed on the vehicle at any one time.

The advert approval application form  must be submitted to the Council along with requested graphic including all measurements.

All adverts must comply with the Hackney Carriage Proprietor conditions.


Advertising on Hackney Carriage Vehicles (Wheelchair accessible)

‘All over livery’ – advertising to cover the complete exterior body shell. Advertisements may also be displayed in the rear window of the vehicle using the ‘contravision’ system.

‘Superside’ – Advertising material covering the exterior doors and wings on both sides of the vehicle, excluding the window area.

‘Rear doors only’ – Advertising will be limited to advertisements not exceeding 100cm by 40cm affixed to the rear doors of the vehicle.

‘Rear doors only’ – Advertising will be limited to advertisements not exceeding 100cm by 40cm affixed to the rear doors of the vehicle.
