Opening Hours

Monday 10am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 5pm
Tuesday Closed
Wednesday Closed
Thursday 10am to 1pm and 1.30pm to 5pm
Friday Closed
Saturday 10am to 2pm
Sunday Closed

The library is open for:

  • browsing and borrowing a wide range of books including fiction and non-fiction for adults and children;
  • printing and photocopying;
  • using a public computer and scanner for up to three-hours a day;
  • free WiFi;
  • reserving stock including books, DVDs, toys and board games; and
  • advice on using our BorrowBox and Libby apps to browse our eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and daily newspapers.

The public computers are automatically turned off 15 minutes before closing time.

Access

Denton Burn Library is located on the busy West Road, and is well served by local bus routes in both directions. Limited free parking is available in Denton Burn Library car park. Cycle racks are at nearby shops on the corner of West Road and Broadwood Road.  Electric car charging points can be found on Charge Your Car website

We are lucky to be located close to an original section of Hadrian's Wall. The Library is in the same building as a Newcastle College Learning Centre.  We have ground floor level access and automatic doors.  We have free WiFi and a public toilet.

Staff at Denton Burn Library are always keen to offer a reading recommendation (particularly to crime readers!) and keep a display topped up with all new titles.
