The Job

Newcastle City Council are looking to appoint two Technical Surveyors in the Planned Investment Team within the Construction Services section.

The successful candidate will support the Technical Project and Design Team Manager in the management of Construction Services technical and support functions and contribute to the delivery for all technical aspects of client management in respect of delivering the service. The candidate will be responsible for planning, design, procurement, feasibility studies, management and financial control as required in the delivery of the service to the allocated area of work.

The Candidate

We are looking for someone with the:

Experience of programme management of construction schemes from inception to completion;

Ability to prioritise competing demands and deliver to deadlines;

Experience of managing budgets;

Demonstrable track record of successfully building partnerships and working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Ability to report on cost and quality aspects of the performance of partner and contractors to senior management, to identify any deficiencies and to take appropriate remedial action.
