An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within our well-established Adult Community Team, which delivers services to achieve the best outcomes for adults and older people who have care and support needs. We work with a variety of people over the age of 18 who have the need for social work intervention. We are looking for highly motivated, registered social workers to join our expanding Adult Community Teams.

Our plan is for the team to work in neighbourhood teams across the city. The workers within the ACT team will have opportunity to build and maintain working relationships with people, their carers and the services and support within their area. The aim to bring the people we work with, better opportunities and to help connect them with their neighbourhood. We are proud and committed to support people with access to both formal and informal services, to enable them to lead more independent and fulfilling lives, as part of their local communities.

It is essential that you have a social work qualification and have a clear understanding of the Care Act and the Local Authorities statutory duties. Experinece wokring in an adult statutory setting would also beneficial. The successful applicant will also need to be a dynamic, innovative and committed person, willing to consider all possible options, working with external stakeholders, people and their families, as well as colleagues within local authority. It is an exciting time to join us as we embark on a new model of social work practice which will be more relationship based and utilise traditional social work skills.

We are strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and a range of other recruitment checks.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful, we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s).
