An opportunity has arisen for two full time, fixed term (14 months) Social Care Assessment Officers to join the Reviewing Team within Adult Social Care at Newcastle City Council.

This post provides a fantastic opportunity to be part of embedding the 3 Conversations approach to working with people in Newcastle. This approach draws on the individual's own resources and community assets and encourages professionals to forge stronger links with the wider community, to support individuals and their families.

The post holders will use the 3 conversation model to review peopke with existing care packages in place, to look at their current level of need, whilst considering what is available within their neighbourhood, to assist to keep people independent within their own home. This will require a strengths based approach to practice in completing reviews for people in receipt of support from adult social care.

Newcastle Council have adapted the 3 Conversations and Asset Based Community Development approaches within adult social care, in alignment with the Newcastle Neighbourhood programme of work. You will need to have a keen interest in promoting this approach and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be comfortable with working independently and with team members across a range of professions. Previous recent experience in an adult social care team environment is desirable for this post.
