Fixed term: 9-12 months

Newcastle City Council is looking to recruit undergraduate students looking to begin a career in local government.

We are looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and highly organized individuals to join our Corporate Research Team. In this placement, you will support critical projects that span the big issues facing our cities and communities - including poverty, net zero and the cost of living crisis.

Your research will be used to guide and support our key transformational programs as well as informing our partnership working. You will support the development and implementation of city strategies, and undertake engagement with regional and national policy makers.

If you believe you have the ability to make a difference for the future of our residents and would like to develop research skills across a range of strategic projects, we would love to hear from you.

You will need to be able to establish excellent working relationships with staff at all levels, work well alone and as part of a team, support the presentation of complex information and analysis, and have the resilience and confidence to support the progress of projects to a successful outcome.
