Newcastle City Council are looking to appoint a Repairs and Construction Manager within the Mechanical Section of Construction Services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of Mechanical related services to Newcastle City Council’s property stock and external clients ensuring effective operational management and delivery of defined quality standards in accordance with client requirements.

You will be expected to lead a team ensuring effective delivery of the service, whilst maximising efficiencies of resources against programmes through productivity monitoring and absence management protocols in accordance with service guidelines.

You would be responsible for the delivery of a variety of scheme such as: -

<ul>

<li>New build housing schemes (plumbing and heating)</li>

<li>Commercial gas servicing programme</li>

<li>Plumbing and heating repairs within schools and public buildings</li>

<li>Mechanical and plumbing alterations in connection with building extensions and modifications. </li>

</ul>

We are looking for people with experience of:

<ul>

<li>Leading and motivating teams in a dynamic and fast paced environment.</li>

<li>Delivering and continually improving customer centric services.</li>

<li>Operating in a commercial environment, maximising income generation opportunities, and managing budgets.</li>

<li>Understanding and knowledge of health and safety regulations within the designated area of responsibility.</li>

<li>Developing and leading a multi-disciplined team and deliver to agreed contract specifications, timescales, and performance levels. </li>

</ul>
