Walker Riverside Academy is looking to appoint two Reading Champions to support students in becoming confident, skilled and enthusiastic readers who learn to read, read to learn and read for pleasure. The successful applicant will continually demonstrate their own love of reading to the students and develop strategies that will have a significant impact on student progress in this area. They may have a background in supporting students in phonics, literacy and reading and should be able to work cooperatively with members of the English team under the direction of the Reading Intervention Lead. They will be expected to diagnose reading difficulties, develop reading intervention strategies to support students, work one to one and lead small group interventions and draw upon their knowledge of literature to inspire students to read independently for pleasure.

You will also receive consistent support from a dedicated Headteacher, SLT, CEO, Trust Central Team, Local Governing Body and Trust Board.
