An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Team Manager to join Adult Social Care and Prevention Directorate. We are in the process of restructuring our service areas to ensure we meet the needs of the people of Newcastle effectively and timely, using a strength-based approach, linking people to their communities and neighbourhoods using the 3 Conversation approach. It is a great time to join the team as look to build on our OT offer within the city.

The post holder will manage a team of Occupational Therapists to deliver an effective and efficient service to meet the assessed needs of people aged 18+ living in the community with physical health needs and sensory support issues, through the provision of equipment and major adaptations.

We expect the post holder to have significant experience in Occupational Therapy, with an excellent working knowledge of legislative and statutory requirements, and evidence of your ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with relevant partners, including Newcastle upon Tyne Hospital Trust and Housing.

It is essential that you can demonstrate experience in managing reflective colleague supervision and improvement to practice, performance and team development. We expect the post holder to also have experience and understanding on managing sickness absence processes.

We require someone with enthusiasm and energy with the ability to provide creative and innovative ideas for the development of the Community Occupational Therapy Service, in line with the priorities of the Adult Social Care and Prevention Directorate.
