The Job

With a professional and customer focused approach, you will handle and defend insurance claims made against the council. The role is full of variety, and you will have the opportunity to work on a mixed portfolio of claims. You will process and monitor internal and external claims so that deadlines are met, and any resulting queries / rejections are resolved in a timely manner. You will engage with claimants and their solicitors, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with difficult or sensitive claims. You will help us ensure that our robust systems and data is well maintained, so that our claims handling is effectively supported.

The Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our dedicated team, supporting the delivery of our insurance services. This is an excellent opportunity to progress your career within the Insurance field.

Do you have:

<ul>

<li>Experience of Insurance claim handling</li>

<li>An understanding of the principles of insurance and risk.</li>

<li>A high standard of literacy and numeracy.</li>

<li>Experience of extracting, collating, analysing, and presenting data.</li>

<li>Experience of working to deadlines and having to prioritise work.</li>

<li>Experience and competence in using IT and common business support packages including Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.</li>

<li>Insurance qualification would be desirable but not essential.</li>

</ul>

If required you will be supported to complete a professional insurance qualification whilst gaining valuable skills, knowledge, and experience with a large Local Authority.
