To commence: ASAP

37 hours per week, term time only, plus 4 additional days per annum (delivered flexibly between 7.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday)

As a Finance Partner you will provide up to 15 schools with financial advice regarding their budget setting, monitoring and internal reporting - challenging and supporting your portfolio of schools throughout the year to help them follow good financial practice, maintain financial awareness and ensure a good use of resources. You should be recognised by your peers and schools as being an expert on school finance matters and carry their confidence, respect and trust.

This role requires someone comfortable with finance and spreadsheets, but also equally capable of building relationships in a warm, approachable yet when necessary rigorous manner. You do not necessarily have to have a finance qualification or a school business management qualification, although this would be an advantage. You must however be experienced and competent in school finance duties and able to confidently advise schools on such matters.

We are highly committed to the professional development of all our staff and the post-holders will access comprehensive training and development opportunities.

Whilst it is possible to provide schools with some support remotely over the phone or internet - and therefore carry out some of the role working from home - to carry out an effective Finance Partnering service you will be required to travel to across our three authorities north of the Tyne and meet with the team regularly throughout the week. You should therefore be able to drive.

An excellent benefits package is offered including the following:

• A competitive salary (April 2022 pay award pending)

• Access to training and support

• Equivalent of a minimum 24 days holiday per year, plus public holidays (wrapped up within the pro-rata term time payment)

• Enhanced sick pay (up to 26 weeks full pay after qualifying period)

• Eligible to be part of the Local Government pension scheme (current employer contribution rate of 18.1%).

• Eligible mileage reimbursed at 45p per mile

• Family friendly Bishop Bewick CET Policies and practices that promote health and wellbeing

• The role will be based at the BBCET central offices in Fenham, Newcastle where there is good transport links and free parking.

Closing Date: 12th Sept 2022 (12pm)

Interview Dates: W/C 19th Sept 2022
