Great North Run Parking 2021

Great North Run Parking 2021

The Great North Run will be staged this year on Sunday 12 September 2021.  In a change from the route used in previous years the starting and end points for the run will both be in Newcastle city centre.  Further details regarding this major event can be found here

Information can be found on our off-street car parks webpage here (link to https://newcastle.gov.uk/services/parking-and-permits/car-parks-and-street-parking) regarding our network of car parks, including key information about each car park and an interactive map.  Parking will be available across these car parks on a pay and display basis on the day of the event.

Information regarding Park and Ride services on Tyne and Wear Metro can be found here (link to https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/services/parking-and-permits/car-parks-and-street-parking/park-and-ride)

All prepaid booked spaces in 3 car parks have now been taken up and no further requests/applications will be accepted.  Vehicles will be checked at the entry point of the car park to ensure the vehicle is subject to a prepaid booking and vehicles will then be allowed access to the car park and directed to find an available pay and display bay.  If you have prepaid, your vehicle details will appear on the Enforcement Officers handheld devices and you do not need to take any further action.

As per previous information published on this website, requests to cancel or amend any pre-booked parking should have been submitted to us by Thursday 9 September 2021.  As the Great North Run 2021 event has now taken place the pre-booked parking facility has now officially closed and we are no longer actively monitoring the email account linked to this event.
