The Newcastle Compact is an agreement between Newcastle City Council, and the voluntary and community sector in Newcastle. It describes the relationship between the council, the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS) and a range of public sector partner organisations in the city.

The Newcastle Compact is not a legally binding document. The authority of the Newcastle Compact comes from the fact that the council, public sector partners and the voluntary and community sector have made an agreement on how they will work together for the benefit of individuals and communities.

There is also an addendum which defines payment schedules, performance monitoring, flexibility and underspend.
