Search for a Building Regulation Application

Search for a Building Regulation Application

You can carry out an online search of our Building Regulations Register to check for the existence of building regulations history on a property.

Building Control has recently introduced a new software database on which live building control records are now held.  Public access to the new live Register is not yet available for online searches.  We are hoping this will be launched soon, a link to the system will be available from this web page once live.

In the meantime, you may still access our old Register which holds record of building regulation applications, initial notices and competent person notifications for properties in the City of Newcastle upon Tyne deposited since 1 January 1995 and up to 1 May 2020.  Any new cases or current status of existing cases that have been updated since 1 May 2020 will not be reflected in the old Register.

Please note that it is only possible to check for the existence of applications and the status of the application.  It is not possible to access any documents relating to applications as this is does not form part of records that should be held in the public domain.

Search enquires relating to records created or updated since 1 May 2020 should be sent to psr@newcastle.gov.uk quoting property address / providing location plan and outlining the nature of property search enquiry.

The website allows:
Simple search (by reference number, street name, post code or a keyword)
Advanced search (by application type, between dates, by ward)
The website is compatible with internet browsers Microsoft Internet Explorer version 9 and above, Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
