Part time 3 days per week for 2 years

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Discovery Museum’s curatorial team as Assistant Keeper (History).

Reporting to the Keeper of History you will work on collections documentation, support the development of the temporary exhibitions, maintain gallery displays, respond to enquiries and facilitate access to stored collections. You will work with the science and industry collection, with a particular focus on the ‘Steam to Green; a North East Energy Revolution’ programme, about energy and the climate crisis. You will also support the organisation and delivery of three late night events, across the two years, as part of the Steam to Green programme.

You must demonstrate an enthusiasm for history curatorship and experience of collections management and events work. A knowledge of north east history is desirable.
