Fees and charges (environmental health, trading standards and licensing)

Fees and charges (environmental health, trading standards and licensing)

Legislation permits local authorities to recover fees and charges for some of their statutory regulatory functions and formalities. It also does not prevent it from charging for discretionary activity. In many cases, payment of a fee for a permit or licence, along with any subsistence charges, is a statutory requirement, and the assessment of the application and granting of the permit or licence is contingent on the fee being paid.

The fees charged by Public Safety and Regulation are reviewed annually, and published here for 2023/24.

The fees for 2024/25 can be viewed here.
