European Election 2019 results

The North East has elected its three MEPs (Members of European Parliament) following counts across the region.

Newcastle Quayside

Following the vote held on Thursday May 23, local counts took place on Sunday evening around the region.

Results from those events were collated at the regional count in Sunderland.

The overall result was

The Brexit Party	240,056
UK Independence Party (UKIP)	38,269

The result means The Brexit Party is allocated two seats and the Labour Party one seat in European Parliament.
