Christmas 2014 and New Year 2015

City, East End, Gosforth, Kenton, Outer West and West End Libraries will close at 12:30pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve. They will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but will be open as normal between Christmas and New Year.

The following libraries will have longer Christmas breaks:

  • Blakelaw will close at 1pm Tuesday 23 December. It will reopen 2pm Friday 2 January.
  • Cruddas Park will close at 4:30pm Tuesday 23 December. It will reopen 10am Monday 5 January.
  • Denton Burn is currently closed for building work and is due to reopen in February 2015.
  • Fenham will close at 12:30pm on Christmas Eve. It will reopen 9am Monday 5 January.
  • High Heaton will close at 12:30pm Tuesday 23 December. It will reopen 1pm Monday 5 January.
  • Newbiggin Hall will close at 5pm Tuesday 23 December. It will reopen 9am Friday 2 January.
  • Newburn will close at 5pm Tuesday 23 December. It will reopen 9:30am Friday 2 January.
  • Walker will close at 5pm Friday 19 December for building work and is due to reopen 9am Monday 5th January.
