Newcastle City Council’s Libraries Service is the proud holder of the Government’s Customer Service Excellence standard.
To be recognised as achieving Customer Service Excellence, the Library Service has been successfully assessed against the standard by a licensed certification body awarding us the right to display the Customer Service Excellence hallmark. Customer Service Excellence is a tool for continuous improvement, and the Library Service is taking part in an ongoing programme of review agreed with our certification body to help us maintain and develop over time. The Government is promoting businesses that are efficient, effective, excellent, equitable and empowering - with the citizen always and everywhere at the heart of public service provision. With this in mind Customer Service Excellence was developed to offer a practical tool for driving customer- focused change within organisations.
Newcastle Libraries provide books, information and free computer use at branches across the city.
