Revised Tyneside Validation Checklist 2024 - Your Chance to Comment

Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, North Tyneside, and South Tyneside Councils are seeking comments on a draft revised Tyneside Validation Checklist.

The revised Checklist sets out both the national and local requirements for information/documents that should be submitted to support planning and other types of applications.  The Checklist incorporates:

  • the expected content of supporting information/documents;
  • changes to national and local planning policy which have occurred since the 2019 Validation Checklist was adopted; and
  • links to further guidance to assist with submission.

Click here to view the draft document. (pdf, 4mb)

alternatively there is an accessible web version of the document here.

We are undertaking a period of consultation for a period of 4 weeks lasting until 12 April 2024.

Newcastle City Council’s Planning Division is undertaking the consultation on behalf of all four authorities and will be collating any responses.

All responses received will be shared with the other three authorities and reviewed ahead of adoption of the new Checklist.

If you have any comments on the draft document then please complete this on line questionnaire.  Anonymous responses will not be able to be taken into consideration, so please ensure you provide your name and contact details as part of the questionnaire.
