Reviewing Team

An opportunity has arisen for two full time, fixed term (18 months) Social Workers to join the newly formed Reviewing Team within adult social care at Newcastle City Council.

You should have a relevant social work qualification, such as Degree in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent, as well as SWE registration. We are happy to consider applications from progressed and unprogressed Social Workers as well as newly qualified / qualifying Social Workers.

This post provides a fantastic opportunity to be part of embedding the 3 Conversations approach to working with people in Newcastle. This approach draws on the individual’s own resources and community assets and encourages professionals to forge stronger links with the wider community, to support individuals and their families.

The post holders will use the 3 conversation model with existing people who have care packages, to look at their current level of need, whilst considering what is available within their neighbourhood, to assist to keep people independent within their own home. This will require a strengths based approach to practice in completing reviews for people in receipt of support from adult social care.

Newcastle Council are working towards adapting the 3 Conversations and Asset Based Community Development approaches within adult social care, in alignment with the Newcastle Neighbourhood programme of work. Transforming the way services are delivered across our city,

This role will be vital in shaping how we embed asset-based development approaches and principles in how we work. You will need to have a keen interest in promoting this approach and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be comfortable with working independently and with team members across a range of professions.
