What the role will involve?

Newcastle City Council has big ambitions in a fast-changing city. We are proud to have an in-house Occupational Health service that promotes good health and wellbeing and facilitates support at the right time and in the right way. The role will support the organisation through an exciting period of change and will be integral to leading the reshaping of the Occupational Health service to support the council’s health and wellbeing priorities.

You will lead a small team of Occupational Health Nurses and the contract for physician, physiotherapy and counselling services who you will work with as a team. In addition to managing a busy service, you will be the council’s expert on occupational health, lead on complex case management and on the contract management and procurement of wellbeing and clinical services to support our people in the workplace.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who possess the clinical knowledge and expertise and is passionate about workforce health and wellbeing. You must be creative and innovative in how we reshape our service delivery to meet changing workforce needs. You will possess excellent stakeholder management skills, be empathetic and have a collaborative approach to working alongside colleagues to strengthen relationships. You will be an integral part of the Directorate Leadership Team making valued contributions to our People Plan helping to make Newcastle a great place to work and thrive.

You must be able to work flexibly including location and time.
