Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served motor vehicle technician to take up a permanent position.

City Transport maintains & repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant, & horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 & 7 vehicles & Licenced Taxis & hackney carriages.

Will you be the successful full time candidate to join the team, primaraly in our Light Goods vehicle workshop at Newington Rd?

We are looking for someone with the skills & experience to achieve the effective & efficient maintenance, diagnostics, & repair of the council’s Light Goods Vehicle fleet.

You will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent & hold a valid MOT tester qualification. A category B driving licence is essential with categories D1 & C LGV licence being advantageous.
