Newcastle City Council are looking to recruit a Highway Control Officer to work within the Highways Maintenance and Operations team with the Transport section of Place Directorate.

Your role will be to apply and enforce all relevant highway legislation other legislation and notices as appropriate to the highway and departmental procedures and specifications in respect of private and public bodies undertaking work in the highway and in respect of any obstruction nuisance or damage to the highway.

You will ensure that all work undertaken on the highway by private or public bodies meets with departmental specifications for temporary or permanent reinstatements as appropriate. Whilst advising on traffic management issues and ensure signing and traffic control requirements are adhered to.
