Recruitment, Training and Workforce Development

Finding and retaining the right employees is fundamentally important to the success of any business, while providing good quality job opportunities is a valuable role for businesses in the city.  We can help bring employers together with suitable candidates through the training and advice we provide for young people, the unemployed, and those who are economically inactive.

Employers can get support in promoting their job opportunities via Work and Thrive Central, which brings careers and employment services together in one central location in the City Library.  Work and Thrive provides access to a network of specialist help to find suitable candidates, source training, and offer work experience and apprenticeships.  It also runs sector based jobs fairs and other specialist events with employers to highlight job opportunities.

The Work and Thrive Employer Offer provides an impartial service that can help:

  • Give advice on the benefits of becoming a Good Work and/or Real Living Wage employer
  • Match Good Work vacancies to the right candidate through our partners and Talent Pools
  • Promote Good Work vacancies in the local area
  • Identify and source recruitment and training support to meet your needs
  • Provide advice and support in your recruitment process
