No-one is too young to become a member of the Library. In fact our youngest member joined the library when less then a day old!
All our libraries have a collection of books and other materials for children. During school holidays there are lots of activities throughout Newcastle Libraries and we also run regular children's reading groups
There are no charges for the reservation of children’s books and fines for late books do not apply to children under 14.
We always have lots going on in our libraries. Take part in arts and crafts, have fun dressing up, meet famous authors, listen to a story and much more! Click on an event in the calendar below for more information.
Join a reading group and share your interests in the books you want to read in a relaxed atmosphere. We'll encourage you to read books that which improve your confidence whilst having a fun time reading and talking about books with other children your age.
If you love books and would like more information about joining one of our reading groups see the calendar above for details of groups and who to contact. The current booklist is available to download.

Look at the calendar above for details of regular activities including arts and craft sessions. And if you're looking for something to do right now there are colouring in sheets, games, puzzles, quizzes and more. Access fun websites.
