Argyle Street

The bridge at Argyle Street, over the railway line, is closed to traffic. 

Please access Argyle Street car park via New Bridge Street.

Blandford Square

Three of the pay and display bays at Blandford Square car park are being converted into electric vehicle charging point bays.

Kingston Park

From May 13 until August 31 approximately 70 pay to park bays in Kingston Park car park have been reserved by Nexus Rail.

Saville Place

Until 30 June 13 pay and display bays in Saville Place car park have been reserved by Newcastle City Council for a storage area in the car park for a contractor working on Northumberland Street.    

The Garage at The Helix

From Monday 20 November 2023 the closing times for this car park will be amended to 10.00pm each day, with the car park re-opening the following day at 6.00am

Temporary disruption

Close swing Bridge 

On June 9 between 6.30 pm and 8.15 pm there will be no access into our exit out of Close swing Bridge car park due to a road closure being in operation to support the Blaydon Race event.

• The closest alternative off street car parks and multi storey car parks are located at either, Akenside Hill car park NE1 3UF, Painter’s Heugh car park NE1 1PG or Dean Street multi storey car park NE1 1PG, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN, Quayside multi storey car park NE1 2AQ

Dean Street, Eldon Garden, Eldon Square, Grainger Town, Manors, Oxford  and Quayside

On May 31 and June 3 to support a match day event taking place at St James Park, all multi storey car parks will have extended opening times and will remain open over night. They will then close at the normal closing time the following day.      

Eldon Garden

The electric vehicle charging points are due to be replaced, so in the interim period there may be periods where the existing electric vehicle charging points may be out of service.   

Ellison Place East

Until June 30 3 disabled bays in Ellison Place car park, the first 3 bays closest to Durant Hall have been reserved for skips.

Forth Banks 

On June 9 between 6.30 pm and 8.15 pm there will be no access into or exit out of Forth Banks car park due to a road closure being in operation to support the Blaydon Race event.

• The closest alternative off street car parks and multi storey car parks are located at either, Akenside Hill car park NE1 3UF, Painter’s Heugh car park NE1 1PG or Dean Street multi storey car park NE1 1PG, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN, Quayside multi storey car park NE1 2AQ

Grainger Town multi-storey car park

The electric vehicle charging points are due to be replaced, so in the interim period there may be periods where existing electric vehicle charging points are out of service.

Guildhall  

From 8.00 pm on May 20 until 6.00 am on May 24 all parking bays in Guildhall car park have been suspended due to a road closure being in operation for Health and Safety reasons in connection with the Tyne Bridge major maintenance works that are being carried out on the Tyne Bridge.  

•  Whilst the road closure is in operation Guildhall permit holders will be allowed to park in a pay to park bay either in an on street location, off street car park or multi storey car park operated by Newcastle City Council.  

Merchants House 

On June 9 between 6.30 pm and 8.15 pm there will be no access into or exit out of Merchants House car park due to a road closure being in operation to support the Blaydon Race event.  

• The closest alternative off street car parks and multi storey car parks are located at either, Akenside Hill car park NE1 3UF, Painter’s Heugh car park NE1 1PG or Dean Street multi storey car park NE1 1PG, Manors multi storey car park NE1 2BN, Quayside multi storey car park NE1 2AQ. 

Morden Street

From May 20 until June 5 2 pay to park bays in Morden Street car park, the pay to park bays are behind the Percy Arms Public House have been reserved for a van and a skip.

• The pay to park bay hat has been reserved for a van will only be reserved Monday to Friday.

St James Park Stadium car park 

The Stadium car park will be unavailable due to a match day event(s) taking place at St James Park on:

• From May 29 until June 5

Weather related disruption

During winter weather conditions multi storey car park roof sections may be closed at:

• Eldon Garden
• Eldon Square
• Grainger Town 

These closures are to keep people safe.  

When roof levels are closed notices will be put up to advise drivers.

During these closures season ticket permit holders can park in pay and display bays on lower levels of these car parks.
