THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES (MEMBERS ALLOWANCES)
(ENGLAND) REGULATIONS 2003 (AS AMENDED)
Under the Local Authorities (Members Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 (as amended) the City Council has to make a new Members Allowances Scheme before 1 April each year. The City Council discussed the Council’s members’ allowances for 2024/25 on 6 December 2023. It had regard to the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel and agreed to make a new Members’ Allowances Scheme for the financial year from 1 April 2024.
The allowances for 2024/25 are set out below:

Copies of the Member's Allowance Scheme can be inspected online on Newcastle City Council’s website at. The Scheme is available for inspection online at the City Library and Community Hub during opening hours. Copies are also available free of charge from Democratic Services, Newcastle City Council, Civic Centre.
