Newcastle City Council's Customer Service Centre statistics

We are currently awaiting up to date information for this page.

When will we be busier than normal?

Monday morning is the busiest time for customers phoning up to report a repair to their council home.  Please try reporting your repair online.

All areas of customer service are busy after Council Tax bills and summons have been sent out. We are busy after the first council tax bills of the year are sent out in early March and after subsequent council tax reminder letters and summons are issued. We have liaised with colleagues in council tax to ensure their mailing runs are staggered as far as possible.

We know that on the first day after a Bank Holiday, the Contact Centre will be very busy.

Have you thought about paying your bills by direct debit or online?

During September and October, as students return to the city or arrive for the first time we are get extremely busy dealing with Council Tax exemptions and parking permit enquiries

We experience a huge increase in calls during periods of severe weather and we play a message directing people to information held on the council's winter weather and snow page, which includes school closures.
