The C-Card and Sexual Health Good Practice Event 2016 took place on 19 October 2016 at St. James's Park and was an opportunity to celebrate local good practice in sexual health work network with workers from a range of C-Card outlets and other projects in Newcastle.
We awarded Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards (Word doc, 14.48kb) for the Newcastle Sexual Health Training Programme and celebrated those services who have gained ‘You’re Welcome’ accreditation and re-accreditation during 2016.
We also presented the Sexual Health Good Practice Awards 2016, recognising and celebrating some of the brilliant work that is taking place in Newcastle to improve sexual health.
The Sexual Health Good Practice Awards 2016 recognised local achievements in delivering innovative and excellent work with young people and adults around sexual health. The three award categories and their winners were:
- Work with young people (under 25) - won by Streetwise Byker Drop-in
- Work with adults (over 25) - won by the PPT (Patient Participation Team) for their work supporting people living with HIV
- Sexual Health Worker of the year - won by Tom Roy, working with the Josephine and Jack Project, Broadacre House
