Joining Newcastle Libraries

It's easy to join online or in person in your local library.

We only collect personal information about you which is necessary for us to offer you library services. See our privacy statement for details of why and how we process your personal information when you join Newcastle Libraries. 

You will receive and 8-digit library membership number and a 4-digit PIN.

Your library membership lasts for 1 year. Please renew your membership in good time so that we know that the information we hold about you is up-to-date, and so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of Newcastle Libraries membership. 

Library membership is individual and non-transferable; in other words, you must not allow anyone else to use your membership. Failure to adhere to this could result in library membership being suspended.

Renewing your membership

We will email you in advance of your membership expiry date to remind you that your membership is due for renewal.

You can request a renewal via our online form or in person in your local library. We want to confirm that the details we hold about you are correct, or ask you to give us your current details so we can update our records.

Once your membership is renewed you can continue using your library card and PIN.
