Local History Month May 2022

We are celebrating the fantastic Heritage of the Northeast this year and making a welcome return to in person events.  

This year’s programme includes events celebrating the 1900 Festival, 1900 years since the building of Hadrian’s Wall, a walk and talk will be taking place in and from Denton Burn Library. We are also hosting several talks, from Maps of Newcastle to a history of the Blackett's. 

We are also hosting a Family History Fair on Saturday 28 May, organized by the Northumberland and Durham Family History Society. 

We hope that you can take advantage of the activities on offer this year. If you would like to find out more about your heritage, come along; you will receive a warm welcome at all our events.
