To take part in the challenge you need to join your local library, then borrow and read 6 books over the summer holidays. As you read more books, you will collect rewards. When you complete the challenge, you get a medal and certificate and a chance to win one of our amazing prizes, which include a Nintendo Switch, scooters and sports tickets!

Did you know?

It's really easy to join the library. If you're under 14, you need to visit your local library with your grown up. We will ask for some of your details, such as name, date of birth, address and contact details. We don't need to see any proof of address or other ID. Then you will be given your own library card and you can start borrowing!

Your library card allows you borrow up to 10 items at a time - books, DVDs and board games - for a period of 4 weeks. You can then bring your items back and swap them for something new or renew them for another 4 weeks if you need them a little bit longer.

You can also use your library card to access hundreds of eBooks and eAudiobooks for free via the Borrowbox app.

Your library card also allows you to use the computers in the library.
