Support Assistant, Level 4 role:

Part time, 30 hours per week (6 hours each day)

Term time only - N5: £22,627 - £24,491 per annum, pro rata

(Actual salary: £15,284 - £16,543 per annum)

Lunchtime Supervisory Assistant, Level 1 role:

Part time, 5 hours per week (1 hour each day)

Term time only - N2: £18,198 per annum, pro rata

(Actual salary: £2,045 per annum)

*This post attracts the Newcastle Living Wage supplement. In addition to the hourly rate, this post will receive the Newcastle Living Wage supplement to bring the hourly rate up to a minimum of £9.50 an hour.

SMART Multi Academy Trust comprises 8 primary schools in the Newcastle upon Tyne area. The Board of Trustees of SMART Multi Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a Support Assistant for Stocksfield Avenue Primary School to provide class cover supervision and to work with small groups of children under the direction of the class teacher.

The role also includes providing support/care to children during the midday break. At Stocksfield Avenue Primary School we believe that learning should be a rewarding, enjoyable and inspiring experience for everyone. To achieve this we constantly strive to deliver teaching that is based on a broad balanced curriculum that is also creative.

We do this in an environment where children are valued, successes celebrated and all are empowered to take responsibility and aspire to be the very best they can be.

The successful applicant will have:

• Good skills in literacy and numeracy

• Confidence to plan for, work with and assess the progress of children - under the direction of the class teacher

• An ability to use ICT systems

• Knowledge and experience of delivering the literacy and numeracy curriculum

• Experience of working with children who need additional individual / small group intervention to assist learning

• The ability to supervise children both inside and outside during the lunch break.
