An opportunity has arisen for us to offer two temporary Teaching Assistant posts -- to be based in one of our two schools - Farne Primary or Cheviot Primary. We are seeking to recruit a Teaching Assistant to join our talented, committed team. The schools have Academy status as part of the eight schools within the Smart Multi-Academy Trust, which is committed to providing the highest quality support for teaching and learning; the employer will be the Trust.

Both Cheviot and Farne Primary School are vibrant, warm and welcoming places. The successful candidate will join a dedicated, hardworking team who are committed to raising standards throughout the school whilst maintaining a broad, balanced and creative curriculum. We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our growing team.

Candidates should be enthusiastic, hardworking practitioners who are committed to raising standards and who will be able to contribute to the future success of the school and the wider Trust.

The successful applicant will have:

• Excellent skills in literacy and numeracy

• Confidence to plan for, work with and assess the progress of children -under the direction of the class teacher.

• An ability to use ICT systems

• Experience of working with children, especially those who need additional individual / small group intervention to assist learning

• The ability to supervise children during break times

The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the DBS and a range of other recruitment checks.
