Following a review and investment in Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) provision within Newcastle, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEND Service Improvement Assistant to be part of a Newcastle’s SEND Service, part of the Education and Skills division.

This is a varied role and the successful candidate will be expected to work across the service supporting a range of functions including providing support to:

• the SEND Transport Service, in arranging home to school transport for children

• the SEND Support Assessment and Review Team in coordinating Education, Health and Care assessments, plans and reviews

• ensure wider service improvements across the SEND Service.

To succeed as a Service Improvement Assistant, you will need to be highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage your own workload, be able to multi-task and deal with changing priorities and deadlines. A collaborative approach to working is key.

You will have excellent IT skills, experience of maintaining websites and be confident in gathering and analysing information to support decision making and project management. We are looking for a team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills.
