This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside the Operational Estate Management Team as a Senior Technician in the new formed Estates Safety Team.
This new team will provide a key role in the management of a range of Health, Safety, and Compliance information on a variety of operational and commercial property on behalf of the City Council.
We are looking to recruit 5 new Senior Technicians with relevant Estates, Property or Health and Safety background, who will be responsible for carrying out regular compliance and safety checks on the councils' portfolios of buildings.
The role will be to deliver an audit program, ensuring appointments are kept and your portfolio of buildings are regularly visited. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the compliance data is recorded accurately and reported regularly.
Working in compliance and Health and Safety of buildings you will be expected to keep abreast of any changes to the relevant Health and Safety legislation in relation to the management of premises and training opportunities will be provided. The role will need to pay special attention to some key risks of managing buildings including The Management of Asbestos, Gas safety, Water hygiene, electrical/electronic safety systems and Fire risk assessments.
You will also be able to work with other Estates and Property colleagues to help implement a new risk management IT system; making best use of handheld and cloud-based technology to capture real-time property data and provide high quality reports.
You will work very closely with the Operational Estate Management Team, who will work alongside the Estates safety Team to ensure that any non-compliance issues are dealt with promptly, meaning our premises are safe for all staff, visitors, or tenants.
Applicants must have relevant experience in the management of properties either in a caretaking, Facilities Management or Health and Safety role and you must be confident in dealing with other officers within the organisation, as well as client's representatives, tenants, and other stakeholders.
