Newcastle is a great City, one that never stands still. We are a cosmopolitan city and our children and families reflect the diversity and vibrancy of our city. Despite the global challenges 2020 brought to us all, we have bold and exciting plans to improve our work with, and outcomes for, children, families and communities.

Building on our recent successes and supported through £3.1m funding from DfE’s Strengthening Families Protecting Children Programme (SFPC), we are adopting a relational approach to working with children and families. This is a whole system change across services for children, young people and families, whereby practitioners, teams and wider partnerships’ practice is shaped and informed by shared restorative language, culture, behaviours and ways of working.

If you are committed to working with children, young people and families and believe that doing so is at the heart of excellent services then we would like to hear from you.

To support our ambitious plans, we have exciting opportunities for Restorative Advanced Practitioners who, following a comprehensive training programme, will champion this exciting new way of working.

To find out more about the role or arrange an informal discussion with Elise Houston please email Elise.houston@newcastle.gov.uk

We offer a comprehensive range of training, including a programme of restorative and relational practice training and professional opportunities that evolves and develops to meet the needs of our workforce at all stages of their career.

In addition, you will receive:

• A dedicated 5-day induction

• Generous annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays with the ability to buy additional leave annually

• A range of flexible working options

• A generous Flexi Scheme

• Access to Mindfulness sessions and other wellbeing initiatives

• Access to a generous, defined benefit pension scheme

• Access to a home electronics scheme and vehicle leasing scheme.
