Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) has embarked on a programme of transformation. Building on its foundations of strong partnership working NSCP is strengthening its training and development offer so that staff and volunteers can access the right learning opportunities at the right time. This will include the use of e-learning, web-based resources and face to face delivery, enabling access to resources through local, regional and national providers and platforms.

This exciting work will require dynamic leadership across the Newcastle Safeguarding Children Partnership (NSCP) and the role of the Safeguarding Training, Learning and Development Officer will be crucial to its success. The post holder will work with colleagues across the partnership but take a lead in developing the training and learning offer, assist in its delivery and help analyse the programme’s impact and report on this to the Partnership Executive and Learning and Improvement Subgroup. The role involves supporting the Partnership Coordinator ensure that learning from research, case reviews and guidance is shared and easily accessible. The post holder will also contribute to the general development of the Partnership, ensuring its policies, procedures and guidance reflect best practice.

We are looking for a dynamic professional with experience of working within services for children, in any relevant agency, to join our Children’s Safeguarding Standards Unit. As NSCP Safeguarding Training, Learning and Development Officer you will have a strong understanding of the safeguarding children process and related guidance and research. With excellent organisational abilities you will be skilled at building effective working relationships and delivering on deadlines. You will have experience of quality assurance processes and techniques and the ability to work innovatively, especially with regard to developing our approach to engaging and communicating with frontline practitioners.
