£18,795 - £19,945 per annum, pro rata (actual £14,484 - £15,370pa)

Thomas Bewick School (A school for pupils with autism)

Learning Support Assistants to be class based as directed by the Head Teacher.

Hours of work to be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30 am - 3.30 pm, Tuesday 8.30 am - 4.30 pm. The post is suitable for experienced Special Needs Assistants.

Required from Monday 2 November 2020, Learning Support Assistants with an interest in working with pupils with autism and associated disorders. All pupils have significant learning difficulties and complex needs. The vast majority of pupils are working below the standard of the national curriculum assessments and therefore need an adapted, personalised curriculum tailored to their individual needs.

Thomas Bewick is a successful specialist school for pupils aged between three and nineteen years with autism. Ofsted reported the school as being ‘good’ in April 2016. Thomas Bewick is an academy school and is part of PROSPER Learning Trust (a multi academy trust).
