£22,369 - £23,194 per annum pro rata (Actual full-time salary £19,207 - £19,916 per annum)

This school has Academy status and you will be employed by the Board of Trustees. Mary Astell Academy Linhope Road West Denton Newcastle upon Tyne NE5 2LW Flexible up to 37 hrs per week, Mon-Thursday 8am until 4pm and Friday 8am until 3.30pm. Term time plus 5 training days Applications for job share will be considered Both Permanent and Fixed Term positions available. To be class based as directed by the Head of School. Due to our ongoing expansion as a School and Trust we require, as soon as possible, a range of Learning Support Assistants with an interest in working with pupils with SEMH and challenging behaviours. We seek committed individuals that are able to contribute to supporting some of the most vulnerable young people within the city and surrounding areas, striving to make a difference to their lives. Mary Astell Academy is a specialist Alternative Provision Academy that works with pupils who have been permanently excluded from mainstream schools whilst also working with pupils that are at risk of permanent exclusion and access our short term ‘turnaround’ provision with a view to supporting their transition in the educational journey. The successful candidates will be deployed initially at Mary Astell Academy but will be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site should the need arise. Prosper Learning Trust was established in January 2018 with Newcastle Bridges School and Mary Astell Academy. Thomas Bewick School joined in 2019 and Harry Watts in September 2020. We are striving to further build collaboration across the schools and grow as a Multi Academy Trust, whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the MAT for the benefit of our pupils.
