Newcastle City Learning

This is a sessional, hourly paid post. Hours negotiable - daytime/evening

Newcastle City Learning is seeking to recruit sessional enthusiastic and innovative Learning Support Assistants to compliment and develop the delivery of our provision for people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.

We expect all staff to work to the “Newcastle City Learning Way” which sets out service expectations and standards. We expect and support staff to set consistently high aspirations for, and expectations of, themselves and learners.

The ideal candidate will be experienced and have expertise in working with learners with LLDD and supporting a curriculum which is learner and outcome focussed.

You need to be familiar with person centred planning and Individual Learning Plans and have the ability to be innovative with supporting learners within the classroom and place of work. This post requires you to be able to prioritise and organise your time in addition to working alongside tutors to ensure positive relationships and the development of the service.

It is expected all staff will embed wider skills including English, maths, ICT and digital skills, British Values, Safeguarding and PREVENT, equality and diversity to ensure that learners maximise their understanding and application within their working and personal lives. Further details can be found at https://bit.ly/2mEDHlm and will be explored further at the interview stage.

Apply online at www.northeastjobs.org.uk.

We are committed to protecting and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. This post is working in regulated activity. If you are successful we will undertake additional recruitment checks which will include a check to see if you have had any criminal convictions, a check of police information and we will check the barred list(s). It is a criminal offence for a barred individual to apply for a job in regulated activity.

As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults or dealing with sensitive information, written references will be taken up and made available to interviewers before the final selection stage; even if you indicate otherwise.
