The post is to be class based as directed by the Head Teacher. The post is suitable for experienced Special Needs Assistants.

Learning Support Assistants with an interest in working with pupils with autism and associated disorders. All pupils have significant learning difficulties and complex needs. The range of abilities stretches from P Levels to lower National Curriculum levels.

Prosper Learning Trust was established in January 2018 with Newcastle Bridges School an Mary Astell Academy. Thomas Bewick School joined in 2019 and Harry Watts in September 2020. We are striving to further build collaboration across the schools and grow as a Multi Academy Trust, whilst continuing to strengthen our relationships with schools outside the MAT for the benefit of our pupils.

Harry Watts Academy is a new special free school for pupils with autism aged between five and sixteen years located in Sunderland. Initially the school has opened to a small cohort of pupils based in temporary accommodation in Harraton. The new school building is expected to open in February 2021 when pupil numbers will be increased. We are therefore looking to recruit a small number of staff for January 2021 start.

The successful candidates will be deployed initially at Harry Watts Academy but will be expected to work at any Prosper Learning Trust site should the need arise.
